My Ideal House, Part 1

All of this is possible right now, just not possible for me right now. Here’s what I’d get:

  • An energy efficient house Much higher than code for insulation, energy efficient appliances, etc.
  • A solar powered house, off-grid. Forget turning off the fridge to run the ac. Instead, a generous amount of panels one time. I could put the panels about five feet off the ground (on poles), and grow shade-loving short things underneath. Then I could cover some of the panels if I’m generating too much electricity.
  • A well for water for the home
  • A rain-water cistern to gather rain from the roof for the garden. Drip irrigation to most of the garden for ease. Dry spell? Turn on the hose from the well.
