Thanksgiving. Everyone living can imagine some way life could be better. (That’s part of what sets us apart from animals, I think, is our ability to imagine counter-to-reality situations and then decide if and how to try to achieve them.) Everyone can also think of someone worse off, though contemplating the suffering of others should not make us feel better. But there’s lots to be thankful for. In brief:

I’m thankful for the work of others that brought me the things I need.

I will try to take care of others to do my share.

I will try not be greedy or angry about what I don’t get.

I’m thankful for good health and the ability to maintain it.

I will try to help people as I can.
