It was clear and beautiful yesterday, a gift of a day. I spent some time tending to the plants, and then ate lunch outside on the concrete slab, I mean, patio, just to be outside a bit longer. It was about 40 degrees last night, but the cold-weather tolerant spinach and lettuce are fine (see below). I can cover them when it frosts. Spinach, like a lot of plants, grows symmetrically with pairs of leaves. I ate the first of the spinach leaves, snipping one carefully from each of the bigger plants, which is why most below have an odd number of leaves. Now today is another gift of a day.
