I got a late start planting vegetables. It’s one way to live more in balance and eat healthier. I moved in June, and it took a little bit to get started. Good dirt and a bit of fertilizer give a good foundation, and then carefully nurturing the cucumbers with enough water and sunlight helps them grow. Three months later, just in the last couple of weeks, the cucumber vines have bloomed like crazy.
Dozens of blooms.
Several cucumbers have set on and the largest is now almost big enough to make a very small pickle. (The tomato is growing but not blooming yet.) So there are some promising signs, but I haven’t actually seen the fruits of my labors yet.
I know I can do this! I just need to be patient with myself. So whatever projects you’re working on, remember that the results aren’t always instant or as fast as we would like. Keep going and you will harvest what you’ve sown.
